Little Otter Swim School Facilities

Little Otter Swim School Facilities and PoolsLittle Otter works very hard to make sure our pools are clean and warm for swimming. Our pools are maintained at a tropical 90 degrees because a child that is warm will learn more easily to swim. We have recently added a UV (Ultra-Violet) system to both of our pools. This system uses light to purify our water. This gives us an added protection against water borne illnesses.

We circulate the water in our baby pool every hour. This is 6 times what is required by the regional health department. The main pool water circulates every 2.5 hours. This is about 2 and a half times what is required by health agencies. By going the extra step, we are trying to have the cleanest water for your children to swim in.

Little Otter Swim School Baby PoolAs you look at our pools, you will notice the edge of the pool is right at the surface of the water. This is called a rim flow design. The advantage of this design is that waves dissipate and the water is calmer as children are learning. The low sides also make it easier for smaller children to enter and exit the pool.

You will also notice PVC islands in our pool. The islands allow us to let children swim an appropriate distance. We can move the islands to challenge children and also move them closer for children that are still working on skills. The floor to ceiling glass is also nice as it lets your child see you and know they are safe because you are always close by.
