Work With Us

Imagine being a child’s first teacher, and helping prepare them for a lifetime of fun. Our instructors are at the heart of our company, the face of our brand and what truly makes the Little Otter experience special. Love them first and then teach them to swim.

If your are energetic, creative and excited by daily challenges, then we have the job for you. We specialize in preteen, youth, toddler and infant aquatic orientation and swimming progression, with an emphasis on water sport safety. Our instructors help drive Little Otter’s values, creating an environment and a community where all feel welcome in a warm learning environment.

We strive to create amazing experiences – not only for our students and their families but also for fellow employees.

You must be able to connect with children and meet them on their level. You must have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and be trained in our curriculum. A swim instructor must be smiling, patient, loving, caring and compassionate. This is a high energy job that demands focus and being in the moment with your students.

We offer paid training and a starting wage of $10 per hour once you are assigned classes on your own. Starting wage is negotiable with prior experience. This is a part time job with possibility of becoming a full time job.

We have 2 state of the art facilities that were built to teach children to swim.. Our focus is on child development and teaching in a way that is age appropriate. Our Matthews facility has been providing swimming instruction for more than 12 years and our ever expanding Huntersville location offers diving coach instruction introduction as well. We have been named a best place to work by the Charlotte Business Journal.
